Playhouse Guised as a Water Tower
Inspired by this old drawing I found.
SCROLL DOWN
We started with a section of an 8'-diameter culvert.
My son "the Pace" helped.
The ceiling.
We used 2"x10" LVL to create a level plane.
A little math.
The Pace.
Framing done with LVL.
Roof framing completed.
Pace, king of all power tools.
We insulated the attic of the water tower.
Not sure what he's up to, but I'm following his lead.
Roof sheathing completed.
Ready for plank siding which is purely decorative.
First wood plank installed.
Do you know why steel straps are closer together near bottom?
Metal roof fabricated and installed.
Time out, Dad.
Footing excavation.
Used up all the scrap rebar we could find.
15 cubic yards of concrete.
Thanks goodness for telehandlers.
Spiral stairs will get painted and treads will be installed in the Spring.
Second floor will be a net from which kids can see out viewing slots.
Final painting will be done when it warms up.
All done.
